Lawrence Lee

Lawrence is a born and raised Red Deerian whose immigrant parents instilled upon him the principles of a strong work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit. From the age of five, Lawrence knew the importance of connections and honing customer service skills while minding the till at the neighbourhood grocery store.

Progressing through his K-12 education, he continued to work in the family grocery and restaurant business. Lawrence went onto the University of Alberta, majoring in statistics and minoring in computing science. It was then a 28 year career in corporate Canada that sharpened his skills, working for the Jim Pattison Group, Home Depot International, Eye Recommend, and ALA capital, with the title of Director of Operations.

His entrance into politics began while still working full-time; initially with Red Deer Public Schools from 2004 through 2013 as board chair, then shifting to municipal government where today Lawrence is serving his third term on Council for the City of Red Deer.

As a Councillor, Lawrence's passion for community shines through in his council work, including board and committee service with organizations such as the Federation of Canadian Municipalities, Alberta's Mid-size Cities Mayor's Caucus, the regional collaboration committee, and more. When he is not working, Lawrence loves spending time with family - including his daughters Britany and Jessica, his wife Betty, and taking on new challengers on the Pickleball court.
