Gender Equality Study Mission – Halifax, Nova Scotia & Ottawa, Ontario
From May 31 to June 10, 2011, a group of Ukrainian officials including city mayors, deputy mayors and local councilors made a study visit to Canada. -
MLED: Canadian Municipal Partner Orientation
As MLED is funded by the Canadian government and involves the mobilization of Canadian municipal experts to Ukraine (both volunteers and consultants), as well as the hosting of technical missions in Canada, representatives from all Canadian partner municipalities were eligible to attend a two-day Intercultural Effectiveness workshop organized by the Center for Intercultural Learning (CIL) that was organized in Winnipeg on April 28-29, 2011. -
LED Fellowship Program
The LED Fellowship Program of the MLED project took place on August 9-27, 2011 and enabled a team of Ukrainian participants to have a better understanding of best practices in Canadian municipalities related to local economic development. -
MLED Intergovernmental Forum – Dnipropetrovsk
Building cooperation and facilitating dialogue between national, regional and local levels of government as well as private businesses and the public are essential aspects of the MLED project. In fulfilling this objective, an international forum on "Intergovernmental Cooperation in the Area of Regional and Local Development" was hosted in Dnipropetrovsk on June 16, 2011, under the support of the MLED project. -
Association of Ukrainian Cities - National Mayors Forum
The objective of this event was to share the best practices of the municipalities of Canada and Ukraine in protecting and representing interests of local self-government bodies at the national and local levels. -
Municipal Performance Measurement: Polish Study Mission
To support the development of the system for measuring municipal performance statistics in Ukraine, under the MLED-AUC partnership, the FCM arranged a study tour to Poland on May 22-27, 2011. -
