This award recognizes innovative approaches completed at the neighbourhood-scale (or at the community scale for municipalities with populations of less than 10,000). The winning initiative must improve sustainability in at least two of the following sectors: energy, water, waste and transportation. Programs, strategies, plans and projects will be considered.
Examples of eligible initiatives include:
- Transit-oriented development plans
- Neighbourhood revitalization strategies
- Sustainable neighbourhood action plans
