Tools for municipalities, according to Valérie Plante. The City of Montréal “favourably” welcomes the 2019 federal budget. “What this budget demonstrates is that Ottawa wants to help municipalities to develop growth-generating projects worthy of the 21st century. It’s not a surprise to anyone, as transportation is truly a core issue of my mandate, and I’m pleased to see that transfers from the federal Gas Tax Fund will significantly increase, representing a one-time transfer of $2.2 billion. This is excellent news that will allow us to continue investing in our infrastructure, especially our water infrastructure, and in our public transit services.” (French only)
