In 2019, FCM and ICLEI Canada celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Partner’s for Climate Protection (PCP) program.
Our network of over 450 Canadian municipalities have all committed to taking action against climate change, including measuring and managing their greenhouse gas emissions.
Over 400 communities across Canada have declared climate emergencies. They’re on the front line of responding to severe weather events and other impacts of climate change and PCP is proud to be able to support them.
To reflect on the program’s positive impact on communities across Canada, members participated in an interactive exercise during ICLEI Canada’s 2019 Livable Cities Forum. Through this exercise, members identified which achievements they are most proud of and what they are looking forward to in the future of climate action.
This video is the result of that exercise. It highlights the impact PCP and its members have had on local climate action over the past 25 years, articulating their commitment to lasting and environmentally sustainable changes in their communities.
The Partners for Climate Protection program is a partnership between ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability and the Federation of Canadian Municipalities.
