Webinar: Implementing and Evaluating your Local Action Plan
Wednesday, October 22, 2008
Municipalities across Canada are now developing and implementing local action plans to reduce greenhouse gas emissions as part of the Partners for Climate Protection (PCP) program. Once developed, the measures within these plans need to be tracked and quantified to ensure the municipality is making progress towards its reduction target. This webinar will provide guidance on how to monitor, evaluate and track emissions reductions strategies as part of PCP milestones four and five using the new Local Government Measures Analysis Protocol developed by ICLEI-Local Governments for Sustainability. Speakers will present strategies for reporting on progress to council, community stakeholders and the PCP secretariat that draw on the experience of municipalities that have through the PCP program.
Participants will also be introduced to the Climate and Air Pollution Planning Assistant (CAPPA) tool developed by ICLEI USA to assist with the development and quantification of local action plans. CAPPA provides information and quantification tools for over 100 distinct emissions reduction strategies.
