Integrating Open Data within your Municipal Innovations

Session summary

Part of the Kick-starting your municipal innovation webinar series presented by FCM's Innovation Network

Wednesday, March 7, 2018 1-2 p.m. EST

Open data is data that anyone can access, use or share. Cities and their citizens worldwide are discovering the power of "open data" - public data and information available from government and other sources that can help solve civic problems and create new business opportunities. It enables small businesses, citizens, and more to develop resources, which make crucial improvements to their communities. A smart city is an open city!

This webinar will also be presented in French, with relevant local examples, on Wednesday, March 14.

Speakers:

  • Soumya Ghosh, Director of Digital Engagement, City of Edmonton
  • Matthew Lynch - Vice President, Global Partnerships & Initiatives, World Council on City Data
  • Ken Cooke, Director of IoT Product Development, Telus

The presentation slides will be available for download following the webinar.
