FCM’s Big City Mayors’ Caucus to hold Economic Summit (29/11/2017)

After helping to secure unprecedented federal commitments to both a long-term infrastructure plan and a National Housing Strategy, the nation-building role of FCM's Big City Mayors' Caucus (BCMC) is clear. At Thursday's BCMC Economic Summit, the mayors will discuss shared challenges and emerging opportunities to design and build tomorrow's livable, inclusive and competitive cities.

The BCMC will meet with respected urban scholar Richard Florida, who will offer fresh perspectives on city-building as nation-building and what lies ahead for cities. The mayors will also engage in conversation with academic experts, technology leaders and business, Indigenous and civic partners to bring their vision for Canada's urban future into sharp focus.
