Alderville First Nation and the Northumberland County, ON
About this CIPP project
These communities worked together to gain a clearer picture of their waste management systems and find ways to cut costs and build a stronger relationship. Alderville First Nation wanted to increase recycling and create residential composting opportunities. The County worked on a long term waste management master plan, including plans to offer hazardous waste collection year round. Jointly, the two communities looked to develop a joint agreement that would help provide education, reduce costs, and ultimately achieve a goal of 75% waste diversion rate.
