GMF Advisor wins award for visionary brownfields work
The Canadian Brownfields Network (CBN) recently recognized one of FCM's staff at the inaugural Heroes Underpinning Brownfields (HUB) Awards. Stephanie Bohdanow, Knowledge Services Advisor at FCM's Green Municipal Fund (GMF), was the first recipient of the CBN HUB Award — Vision. The award was presented at the CBN Conference in Toronto on June 14, 2016.
The Vision award is given to a "relative newcomer" in Canada's brownfield industry who provides valuable insight into programs, policies and practices that will improve how brownfield redevelopment is carried out in Canada. CBN's recognition of one of our staff members demonstrates the strong leadership role GMF plays in inspiring change and advancement in the brownfield sector among Canadian municipalities.
Brownfield redevelopment is critical to improving the environmental, social and economic health of communities across the country. Through FCM's Green Municipal Fund, and the groundbreaking Leadership in Brownfield Renewal program, we help provide municipalities of all sizes with the resources and networking opportunities they need to bring brownfield sites back into productive use.
We are proud to be involved in helping Canadian communities better understand, navigate and reduce barriers to brownfield redevelopment.
