Climate change is a global issue.

But the impacts are happening at the community level.

The good news is, so are the solutions!

Whether it’s health impacts from air pollution or extreme weather events, your community can do something about it.

In fact, municipalities have influence over more than 50% of greenhouse gas emissions.

By taking action, your municipality can save money on energy costs, create new jobs, and improve the quality of life for residents in your community.

Don’t know where to start? The Partners for Climate Protection Program is a network of over 350 municipalities of all sizes from across Canada.

They’re working together to reduce greenhouse gas emissions while creating social and economic benefits in their communities.

For over 20 years, this partnership program between the Federation of Canadian Municipalities and ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability has given Canadian municipalities the support they need through one-on-one regional advice, peer-learning activities, technical support tools, help in accessing funding opportunities, workshops and training, and recognition for their achievements!

Your community can be part of the solution to climate change.

Is your city ready to take action?
