Canada’s municipalities are globally connected. Whether it’s promoting two-way trade and investment, tackling global challenges like climate change or building capacity in developing countries, local expertise is making a real difference around the world.

We bring Canada’s local voice to multilateral networks of municipalities, and we ensure that local priorities are front and centre in Canada’s international development policy, as well as in trade negotiations. We also partner with the Government of Canada to pair Canada's local experts with their peers in developing communities around the world. For over 30 years, our international programs have helped Canadian municipalities share knowledge and build relationships in more than 50 countries.

From driving global prosperity to achieving the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, local governments are integral to building a better world. We're proud to support Canada's local leaders as they contribute to this movement.
