With Canada having recently surpassed a population of 40 million people, Canadians are keenly focused on the need for housing.
However, Canada’s ambitious housing targets are dependent on essential municipal infrastructure to support it, including water, electricity, roads and public transit, garbage removal, community amenities and much more. This requires immense public investment—resources that many municipalities and cities currently do not have.
Now is the time to empower municipalities of all sizes, urban and rural, and ensure investment in the infrastructure needed to serve and meet the needs of all Canadians in a growing nation.
