As more of today’s workers retire, we need newcomers to keep our economy growing. Skilled immigrants are essential to building our businesses and driving innovation, but we are not doing all we can to help immigrants settle successfully in our communities.
Municipalities big and small are looking for new ways to attract, retain and integrate newcomers, but they lack the revenue tools necessary to pay the growing costs associated with this important job.
