Jerrilyn Kirk is a dynamic and dedicated advocate with over a decade of experience in local government, driven by a passion for community empowerment and positive change. Currently serving as an Electoral Area G Director for the Regional District of Fraser Fort George and as the Electoral Area Representative for the Union of British Columbia Municipalities (UBCM), Jerrilyn brings a wealth of knowledge and insight into the challenges and opportunities facing municipalities not just in British Columbia, but across Canada.

During her tenure in local government, Jerrilyn had the privilege of serving with the North Central Local Government Association (NCLGA), Union of BC Municipalities (UBCM), and the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM). Her commitment to public service is exemplified by her willingness to prioritize family responsibilities, as seen when she took two terms away from Local Government to care for her aging parents and raise her family. Now that she is an empty nester and her parents have passed, she is dedicating her time and efforts to Local Government work and to her community.

Jerrilyn's professional journey is marked by versatility and dedication to community service. As the Cultural Competency Coordinator for the Carrier and Sekani First Nations, she plays a role in reconciliation and promoting understanding and cooperation between diverse communities. Her other work roles include serving as the Executive Director of a Chamber of Commerce, where she supports local businesses. Prior to this she was the Executive Director of the BC Library Trustees Association, where she championed literacy initiatives; and as a public relations liaison for a large mine, where she navigated complex stakeholder relationships. Additionally, Jerrilyn has lent her expertise as an Emergency Program Coordinator for a northern community and as the coordinator for an RCMP Victim Services program, further demonstrating her commitment to supporting and empowering communities and people in times of need.

Educationally, Jerrilyn possesses Social Work from NLC/UNBC, Emergency Management, and Conflict Resolution & Negotiations from Justice Institute of BC. With a passion for collaboration and inclusivity, she believes in the power of bringing people together to address pressing issues such as infrastructure development, public safety, affordable housing, environmental sustainability, and economic growth, which are issues being felt across Canada. If elected to the FCM board, Jerrilyn is committed to representing the voices of local government in British Columbia and advocating for policies and initiatives that benefit communities across the country.
