Session summary

Considering the recent trend in microfinance intervention by donor agencies and international development NGOs, renowned consultant, academic and author Dr. Milford J. Bateman discusses microfinance's effectiveness in reaching those segments of the population traditionally excluded by formal banks and business support services. Responding to Dr. Bateman's comments are Jean-Francois Tardif, Executive Director of RESULTS Canada and Derek Cameron, Program Manager, Sri Lanka & Microfinance at the Canadian Co-operative Association.
