Unique Trade Show on Sustainable Municipal Marketplace Brings Together Vendors, Service Providers and Municipal Decision-Makers (23/01/2014)

Ottawa — Where can you meet municipal decision-makers who are interested in your greener, more sustainable product or service? In Charlottetown, PEI, at the Federation of Canadian Municipalities' (FCM) Sustainable Communities Conference and Trade Show (SCC), which runs from February 11-13, 2014.

Canada's municipal procurement market is worth approximately $100 billion. Sustainable products and services are a growing segment of this market, as municipalities increasingly integrate sustainability into their operations and infrastructure, and reduce costs at the same time.

The SCC attracts between 300 and 350 municipal officials from across the country. This is the first time the conference will be hosted in Atlantic Canada. The trade show is truly Canadian and focuses exclusively on municipal sustainability. The event offers a unique opportunity to connect product and service providers from across the country with a range of decision-makers, including: municipal staff and elected officials; federal and provincial representatives; and, sustainability professionals from the private sector.

This year's theme, Sink or Swim: New Approaches to Adaptation and Resilience, is designed to connect conference participants with the products and services that will help them to build resilient, adaptive communities, while optimizing assets and infrastructure through innovation and collaboration. A number of products and services that will be showcased by registered exhibitors, including: water infrastructure and trenchless solutions; municipal risk assessment tools; alternative and renewable energy sources; energy conservation systems; sustainable building materials and landfill solutions; LED lighting systems; electric vehicle infrastructure; data protection and management systems; and more.
