Changes to call for applications for climate change grants
December 21, 2017 — FCM is implementing changes to the application process for funding offered through the Municipalities for Climate Innovation Program (MCIP).
Since the call for applications opened in spring 2017, we have received a large volume of high quality submissions from across Canada.
To ensure more timely and effective consideration of all applications, FCM is changing its intake process and will no longer accept applications for climate change grants on a continuous, year-round basis. Starting in 2018, we will issue specific calls for applications for MCIP grants.
Due to delays in the funding process for Quebec, there will be a special call for applications for Quebec in early 2018.
If you have already downloaded the application form for one of these grants, you can submit your application with all supporting documents by January 8, 2018.
Further details on the timing and dates for calls for applications will be available in the coming weeks.
Apply for other funding from FCM
You can continue to apply for funding through other FCM programs, including:
- Green Municipal Fund: Grants and loans for sustainability projects, including planning, new energy efficient buildings, water conservation and management, transportation, waste diversion and brownfield initiatives
- Municipal Asset Management Program: Grants to help municipalities strengthen their asset management practices
